Kiila is a proposal for a screw and glue-free knock down construction that allows the user to assemble and separate it in an easy and clear way. Kiila is made of oak, a material that guides the mind to good, solid craftsmanship. Kiila is designed with the principle “construction as decoration” where the design language is defined by the desire for a simple but strong construction. The construction is created as a wedge principle, where the shelves are pushed down over the wedge-shaped legs, locking it together. Kiila is inspired by the Art Deco style period, with its pursuit of elegance, function and movement in the forms, clearly seen in the furniture.
